Our Work
As a bridge between content experts, philanthropic funders, and organizations focused on equity, EqRC provides a third space for equity-first researchers to find consulting and grant opportunities that focus on addressing injustice and inequity.
In other words, we help researchers find resources to help communities.
More specifically we bring together scholarly expertise from colleges and universities into organizational contexts that are able to properly allocate resources and execute projects on the ground the right way.

Test-Optional Admissions Policies
A mixed-methods investigation exploring how test-optional admissions reshape access to higher education for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and low-income students.
Research Partnerships
As an organization, we intentionally partner with community organizations throughout all aspects of our research projects (i.e., design, data collection, data analysis, finding interpretation, etc.) to ensure our work is grounded in the needs of directly impacted communities and to ensure solutions are framed with those groups in mind. In the past, we’ve worked with the following partner organizations:
● Mixteco Indigena Community Organizing Project
● Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance
● American Indian Higher Education Consortium
Freedom Dream
At EqRC, we carry out redistribution across three dimensions - financial resources, opportunities, and technical support - in solidarity with Communities of Color. Through our Freedom Dream Community Organization Fund initiative we offer justice oriented organizations financial resources to advance their work in the wider context of economics, racial disparities, and movement building. In 2023, we partnered with the Debt Collective, BLM Philly, Down North Foundation, and the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition to allocate $200k to manifest their Freedom Dreams at the intersections of economic justice, anti-racism, housing needs, and debt relief.
We have utilized funds toward our redistribution mission plan to provide opportunities for students and scholars of color through our Research Fellows Program (RFP) launch. The RFP aims to introduce and provide early graduate students, Ph.D. candidates, and undergraduate students with an opportunity to engage in critical research and organizational development opportunities within a justice-centered collective.
